Community Guidelines

sorlo works when people use relationship context with care. These standards apply to profiles, photos, messages, Trips, Plans, Around signals, venue recommendations, introductions, Vouches and activity arising from connections made through sorlo.

Last updated: 28 September 2026

1. Be a real person

Represent yourself honestly. Do not impersonate another person, use someone else’s photographs or materially misrepresent who you are.

2. Treat trust as meaningful

Use Trusted, Met and Vouch intentionally. Do not manufacture connections, fake Vouches or manipulate the network. Met is context from a confirmed account-to-account interaction, not identity or location verification. Vouch is social context, not a guarantee.

3. Respect boundaries

A connection path, shared place, Trip, Plan or Personal Key is not an invitation. Respect declines, silence, requests to stop and blocks. Do not repeatedly message, pressure, harass, threaten or circumvent a block.

4. Use Personal Keys carefully

Share your own key deliberately. Entering or scanning one does not create a relationship or entitlement to contact someone. Never distribute another person’s key without permission or use keys to target, impersonate or bypass privacy.

5. Keep Plans and place context genuine

Describe Plans honestly, respect participants, avoid lures and unlawful or seriously dangerous activities, and do not use Plans primarily for spam, selling or recruitment. Joining a Plan means consent to that activity only. Publish Around only when you genuinely choose to be open to Plans for the selected place and days, and recommend a venue only when it reflects your own genuine positive experience.

6. Keep introductions genuine

Introductions should reduce cold outreach, not create pressure. No one owes a conversation, friendship, meeting or response.

7. Meet responsibly

Context is not a safety guarantee. Use your own judgement, consider public places, tell someone where you are going, arrange your own transport and leave if uncomfortable. sorlo is not an emergency service.

8. No harassment, hate or abuse

Bullying, threats, stalking, hateful attacks, sexual harassment, unwanted sexual content, coercive control, targeted humiliation and encouragement of serious harm are not allowed.

9. Sexual behaviour and consent

Consent must be freely given and may be withdrawn. Do not pressure sexual conversation or activity, send unsolicited explicit material, or share intimate images without consent. Child sexual exploitation content is prohibited.

10. Protect privacy

Information found through sorlo is not automatically public. Do not stalk, track, expose, scrape or systematically collect profiles, Personal Keys or private information.

11. No scams or manipulation

Fraud, phishing, false requests for money, malicious links, impersonation, coordinated fake accounts, artificial relationships, fake Vouches and spam are prohibited.

12. Commercial activity

sorlo is for people and relationships, not unsolicited advertising. Do not mass-message, spam Plans or use network access primarily to sell or recruit without permission.

13. Photos and content

Share only content you have the right to share. Do not post illegal, intimate-without-consent, malicious, deceptive or privacy-invasive material.

14. Reporting

Use in-app reporting or contact safety@sorlo.app. Reports should be genuine; do not put yourself at risk collecting evidence.

15. Blocking is a boundary

Do not use another account, another person or any other method to bypass a block.

16. Enforcement

We may warn, remove content, restrict features, limit visibility, suspend or permanently remove accounts. Serious behaviour may result in immediate action. Reports do not guarantee a particular outcome.

17. These Guidelines evolve

We may update guidance as the Service develops and will make significant changes available where appropriate.

The principle

Connections create context.
They don’t create entitlement.
