Getting started
What is sorlo?
sorlo helps you discover people, make Plans and share Trips through people you already know and trust.
Is sorlo a dating app?
No. sorlo is for meeting people through trusted connections—for friendship, shared interests, local Plans, Trips and introductions.
Who can use sorlo?
sorlo is for people aged 18 or over.
Is sorlo free?
For the initial beta, yes. Features and the commercial model may evolve.
Where is sorlo available?
sorlo is beginning in the United Kingdom. You may be able to use it elsewhere, but some features may vary by location.
Trusted, Met and Vouch
What does Trusted mean?
Trusted is someone you genuinely know and choose to place at the centre of your network. It is a one-way choice, and you can currently choose up to six people. Trusted is not an identity check or safety guarantee.
What’s the difference between Trusted, Met and Vouch?
Trusted is someone you choose because you genuinely know and trust them. Met records a confirmed interaction. Vouch adds someone’s personal endorsement. Each provides useful context, but none is an identity check or safety guarantee.
What is a connection path?
A connection path shows how someone is connected to your wider circle. It may be partial and does not mean that everyone along the path knows or endorses everyone else.
How many degrees can I explore?
sorlo can show people up to three degrees away. Who you can see depends on privacy choices and the available connection path.
What is a Personal Key?
A Personal Key lets someone intentionally find or request a connection with you. Scanning or entering one does not automatically create a relationship or give permission to make contact.
What are introductions?
An introduction lets someone you know help start a connection with another person. Nobody is obliged to respond, meet or continue the conversation.
Discovering people and connection paths
How do I discover people?
sorlo is not an open public directory. It helps you discover people through Trusted connection paths, up to three degrees away, when their privacy choices allow it.
Can anyone message me?
No. Seeing someone does not automatically mean they can message you. Messaging is available only when the relationship and privacy settings allow it; otherwise, an introduction may be available. Blocking and privacy choices are always respected.
Does connection context mean someone is safe?
No. Trusted, Met, Vouch, Personal Key and connection paths are useful context, not guarantees about identity, character or safety.
Trips and Plans
What are Trips?
Trips let you share where you’re going and discover relevant connections or travel overlaps. They do not track your live location.
What are Plans?
Plans are activities created by people on sorlo. You can organise something locally or join an activity available through your wider circle. Joining a Plan means consent to that activity only.
What is Around?
Around is a temporary update you choose to share when you’re open to Plans in a broad area on selected days. It expires automatically and never uses live GPS.
What are network recommendations?
These are places recommended by people visible in your network. They are not public reviews, and seeing a recommendation does not reveal someone’s private Trip or Plan.
How does location work?
You choose which places or Trips to share. Other people see broad place or city context—not your precise coordinates. sorlo does not collect live device GPS.
Are Plans organised by sorlo?
Generally no. Plans are user-created and not supervised or endorsed by sorlo. Make your own decision about whether one is appropriate.
Privacy and safety
Who can see my profile?
It depends on your privacy choice, your connection to that person and the feature being used. Choosing Hidden removes your profile from ordinary network discovery; a Personal Key you intentionally share remains a separate way to be found.
Can people see my exact location?
No. Profiles and network screens use broad place or city context, not precise coordinates. Places you select may use location data behind the scenes to identify the correct place.
Does sorlo verify its users?
sorlo does not currently offer a consumer identity-verification feature. Trusted, Met and Vouch are social context, not identity verification.
How do I block or report someone?
Use in-app blocking and reporting tools. A block is a boundary and must not be circumvented. Safety concerns can be sent to safety@sorlo.app.
Is sorlo an emergency service?
No. If there is immediate danger, contact appropriate local emergency services.
Account and support
How do I change my profile?
Open your profile or Settings in the app to update your information and privacy choices.
How do I delete my account?
Account deletion can be requested through the verified in-app Settings flow. Requests are ordinarily processed within 30 days; see the Privacy Policy for retention details.
How do I contact sorlo?
General support: hello@sorlo.app. Safety concerns: safety@sorlo.app. Privacy and data rights: privacy@sorlo.app. Product feedback: feedback@sorlo.app.
How do I report a technical problem?
Use Send feedback in the app or email feedback@sorlo.app. Use the separate safety, privacy and deletion routes for those requests. Never send passwords or authentication codes.
